In partnership with Ministries of Health and other public and private stakeholders and shareholders (donors such as World Bank, Gates Foundation), the USG seeks to accelerate progress toward a world safe and secure from infectious disease threats and to promote global health security as an international security priority.

CDC has been a leader in improving global health security (GHS) for many decades and plays an important role in the Global Health Security Agenda. CDC’s strategy is rooted in science and based on three concepts long embedded in the agency’s mission to protect public health worldwide: 1) Prevent, 2) Detect and 3) Respond

In partnership with the Ministry of Public Health in Cameroon, the CDC-GHSA project seeks to accelerate the country’s progress toward a world safe and secure from infectious diseases.

1. Ministry of Public Health:
1. The Department for the Control of Disease, Epidemics and Pandemics (DLMEP).
2. The National Laboratory of Public Health (NLPH).
3. The Directorate of Pharmacy, Medicine and Laboratory (DPML).
4. The National Public Health Observatory (ONSP).
5. The Health Information Unit (HIU).

1. Department of Veterinary Services (DSV).

1. Cameroon Biosecurity Project (CBP).

HEADA staff under a Cooperative Agreement (CoAg) with CDC, has been working since 2016 with the Cameroon government to achieve this mission. From October 1, 2023 onward, this CoAg has been renewed by CDC and will continue be managed by HEADA.
