HEADA is an African-based non-for-profit organization whose mission is to support global health and development programs. Our domain of intervention include human, animal and environmental health (One Health); field epidemiology and training; laboratory system strengthening (microbiology, virology, LIS and management); global health security and emerging infectious diseases management; health system strengthening (HSS); social behavior change (SBC); clinical research; health information systems (HIS); humanitarian actions; program and finance management; water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH); agricultural engineering; community development and poverty alleviation (community empowerment); communication; education sciences and innovation for health and sustainable development.

Our headquarters is in Yaoundé, Cameroon, managed under the leadership of local national experts who have been leading programs in the Central and West Africa regions (formerly with Metabiota, Inc.), including over $50.5M in US government grants and contracts executed over the past two decades. Our Cameroon and Sierra Leone offices as well as our local partner organization GIReD in DRC have over two decades experience managing and leading implementation of US funded projects as well as have long-lasting collaborative experience working with the local government ministries (health, Defense, Livestock, Environment, Forestry and Wildlife, and Scientific Research, etc.). Our humanitarian representation office in Belgium oversees funds raising and partnerships building in Europe, America, and Asia toward supporting humanitarian interventions in Africa.

HEADA is committed to putting science and technology at the heart of global development. Our mission is to help individuals and organizations apply evidence and insights from science and technology to decision-making in order to have a positive impact on health and safety of the world’s inhabitants, as well as on equitable and sustainable development and poverty reduction. We engage primarily with development professionals, policymakers, researchers, the media and the informed public. We enable progress through local collaborations networked to a gateway of expertise, tools, and information, resources by which health paradigms are shifted. Our extensive experience building international collaborations has helped strengthen surveillance and response capacity for mitigating health risks, creating a conduit for high-quality research in challenging settings.

OUR HUMANITARIAN ACTION PROVIDE HOPE

HEADA-Relief Services a specialized branch of HEADA, collaborates with stakeholders, local and international organizations and government institutions, to contribute to efforts to promote health, prevent diseases at the community level, assist with access to basic commodities and educational support for the benefit of indigent populations (handicapped, destitute), orphans and vulnerable children, marginalized populations, populations in isolated and hard-to-reach areas, as well as people without comprehensive health care. HEADA-RS offers assistance as needed, regardless of tribe, religion, gender or political affiliation of the person or group. Our actions are based on medical ethics and impartiality.
