HEADA Congratulates the Government of Sierra Leone especially the Ministry of Health on the Launch of the National Public Health Agency

On Thursday December 14, 2023, HEADA Sierra Leone team joined the Ministry Health to Launch the National Public Health Agency (NPHA). HEADA, a US CDC implementing partner in Sierra Leone has been part of the technical working group that worked on the establishment of this agency to address public health threats and ensure global health security compliance.

Launching of the new phase of the DHAAP/PEPFAR project with the Cameroon military under HEADA

HEADA is honored and proud to announce that it has successfully taken over the HIV care and treatment program funded by the U.S. Department of Defense HIV/AIDS Prevention Program (DHAPP) with financial support from the U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), previously implemented in the Cameroonian army by the U.S.-based organization METABIOTA (2015-2023). From October 1, 2023, the new phase of the program scheduled for 2024-2027 will be implemented by local organization HEADA as the main beneficiary. The closing/launch ceremony was organized at the Ministry of Defense on September 21, 2023, under the high patronage of the Cameroonian Minister Delegate to the Presidency in charge of Defense represented at the ceremony by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Defense in the presence of the representative of the US Ambassador to Cameroon and the representative of the Minister of Public Health.

Collaboration with the blood bank of the Yaounde Central Hospital in Cameroon, to promote voluntary blood donation (Centre Region)

The team members of Doctors of Communities (MdC) of HEADA, this june 23, 2023 engaged to collaborate with the blood bank of the Yaounde Central Hospital in Cameroon, to promote voluntary blood donation. Dr Irène Kuate, head of MdC, led the team and donated her blood to show the example. HEADA intend to continue this partnership with the Yaounde Central Hospital as a contribution to Save Lives through availabilty blood for emergencies.

Visit to the internally displaced people from the North-West and South-West, residing in the municipality of LOUM (Littoral Region)

In its outpouring of solidarity, the HEADA association took advantage of the end-of-year celebrations to provide support to internally displaced people from the North-West and South-West, residing in the municipality of LOUM. Thus, on December 22, 2022, a donation ceremony was organized at the village hall of the town hall of LOUM in the presence of the fourth deputy mayor. Donations consisting of food, cleaning products, equipment for field work, were given to 40 internally displaced families. This ceremony was an opportunity to trigger the process of establishing a partnership between the HEADA association and the municipality of LOUM with the aim of continuing this new collaboration. Note that the needs of these vulnerable population are food, health, logistics and education. We want to take this opportunity to once more express our heartfelt gratitude to all our benefactors who provided the financial and material support to ensure the success of this operation.

Visit to the "LE BON BERGER" Orphanage in Nkoabang (Centre Region)

Following the collaboration started in 2021 with the "LE BON BERGER" orphanage, in the town of Nkolafamba (Centre region) located in the Nkoabang district, on December 23, 2022, a powerful delegation from the HEADA association, traveled to this orphanage once again. The purpose of this visit was to commune with the residents (orphans) of this center on the occasion of the end of the year celebrations. Gifts, consisting of Christmas gadgets, clothing, foodstuffs and others were offered to the children. The HEADA team also took the opportunity to renew their encouragement to those in charge of this center. HEADA intends to continue its collaboration with this center by continuing to develop communication and advocacy strategies with benefactors and corporate citizens, both nationally and internationally. This activity was an opportunity for HEADA to reaffirm its desire to be present and supportive alongside the youngest and most vulnerable by bringing them love and affection.
